A Novel Three-Layer Symmetry Winding Configuration for Five-Phase Motor

This paper presents a new three-layer, five-phase winding configuration theory of unconventional slot-pole combinations by each layer for phase vector correction, three layers superimposed together to achieve the results three-phase symmetry. Since single-layer has have an empty slot meet its symmetry, based on characteristics winding, design is carried out. Based simulation comparison between and double-layer nine-phase proposed, which are staggered stacked realize not only increases utilization rate but also improves fault tolerance performance. In addition, 105-slot, 20-pole, motor proposed performance analysis both low torque pulsation high tolerance.
